I/Eye: On Photography

From the Artisan & Merchant series: Peter Howard of Serendipity Books (Berkeley, CA), who specializes in first editions,  poetry and little magazines.   Once inside the shop, you may wish to locate the nearest copy of  The Key to Serendipity: How to Buy Books from Peter B. Howard, vol. I (1999), by Berkeley antiquarian, wit, and true man-of-letters, Ian Jackson, who writes in his introduction:

No reasonable person could possibly dispute that Serendipity (or the art of making happy discoveries) is an appropriate name for a bookshop arranged on Mr. Howard’s principles. Great and ceaseless care has been taken, almost unconsciously, to ensure that books will be found when and where one least expects them—but they will be found eventually.
